My Budgeting Journey

You hear the word “budget,” and you probably already know what it means. But the truth is, budgeting is not always easy because we all have habits that we’ve been doing for years, and habits are hard to break.

I remember having this habit where even if I only needed one item from the pantry, I would go to the store to buy it. But somehow, that one item would turn into ten different items in my cart.

I did this for years until I realized it had become a habit I needed to change. I started asking myself, “What would really happen if we ran out of ketchup or vinegar for one week?”

The more often we go grocery shopping, the more temptation we face to buy things we don’t actually need.

Honestly, there was a feeling of happiness whenever I was inside a grocery store. Maybe because growing up, we didn’t always have enough. And now that I can afford to buy things. Part of me wants to fill the emptiness from the past.

This blog is not about being perfect with money. It’s about learning, improving little by little, and building better habits for ourselves and our families.

“Budgeting is not about restriction. It’s about building better habits.”
